Short Message Identity SME and ESME |

Elements that can send or receive short messages are named Short Message Entities (SME) an SME can be a software application in a mobile handset or remote internet server etc. SME can connect directly to a SMS Centre or via a Gateway, Such an SME is also called an External SME (ESME)
VMS is responsible for receiving, storing, and playing voice messages intended for a subscriber that was busy or not available to take a voice call. It is also responsible for sending voice-mail notifications for those subscribers to the SMSC.
