SMS Validity Period Addressing and Sending


A SMS message originator has the ability to indicate the validity period for the sent message .This validity period defines the deadline after which the message content is to be discarded Mobile operators often assign a default validity period for message delivery in their network


With SMS several addressing modes are possible the most common addressing mode consists of using the Mobile Station ISDN No. (MSISDN)
 

Sub-Addressing
Sub-Addressing is a combination of digits ‘#’ and ‘*’ they are usually used for the implementation of SMS Services
Message Sending and Delivery
SMS Message which are submitted by a Mobile Station to the SMSC are called Mobile Originated messages or SM-MO , Similarly the messages delivered to mobile devices by SMSC are called Mobile Terminated Messages
