Difference between CDMA and GSM

CDMA
is both an access method and an air interface. The rest of the
network and system is very similar to any other TDMA system such as a
GSM. Radio resource management, mobility management and security in CDMA systems are all implemented by same way as in TMDA systems

However there are differences in the handling of power control and the
employing of soft hand-off

CDMA IS-95 standard has also demonstrated an increase in system capacity
with compared to analog and TDMA systems and GSM . CDMA improves quality of voice
by using a better voice coder has resistance to multi path fading and
implements soft hand-offs moreover CDMA does not require frequency
planning as all the cells employ the same frequency at the same time
